Pramaana Labs

Pramaana Labs is a frontier AI lab building the verification layer for mission-critical intelligence, systems that turn tax codes, clinical guidelines, legal rules, and safety constraints into machine-checkable logic, so every answer can be traced, challenged, and proved. Founded by IIT Madras alumni Ranjan Rajagopalan (CEO, ex-Google Maps Moderation), Krishnan Raghavan (CTO, ex-Glean), and Sanjay Ganapathy Subramaniam (Chief Scientist, ex-Google DeepMind / Gemini), the team is building domain-specific verification stacks rather than another probabilistic chatbot. The Pramaana stack formalizes human knowledge into precise representations, definitions, exceptions, dependencies, and source traceability, then searches with provers and solvers to return proof artifacts experts can inspect. Early verticals include tax and statutory reasoning, legal and regulatory compliance, healthcare and clinical safety, and software protocols. Pramaana raised a $27M seed round led by Khosla Ventures, with Accel, BoldCap, Nexus Venture Partners, Premji Invest, and Unbound. The company’s thesis: in high-stakes domains, the proof matters as much as the answer, AI that is provably correct, not merely plausible.
