Crib is an AI-powered property management platform for India's co-living, hostel, and paying guest (PG) market. Founded in 2021 in Bengaluru by Sunny Garg (CEO), Shaifali Jain, and Archit Chauhan, the platform gives operators a unified system for occupancy tracking, rent collection, tenant onboarding, maintenance workflows, complaint resolution, and white-labeled tenant apps. More than 2,500 property operators use Crib to manage rental transactions worth over $1B, with features like UPI-based RentQR collection, automated reminders, e-KYC, and real-time occupancy dashboards. In July 2026, Crib acquired CirclePe, a rent financing startup that lets tenants avoid upfront security deposits while operators receive rent and deposit payments in advance through NBFC-backed monthly instalments. The combined platform is live with operators including Housr, Blossom Stayz, Kots World, and Livstations. Crib uses operational data (payment history, occupancy, property performance) to support credit assessment, but the core product remains property management SaaS: software that digitizes how rental businesses run day to day. Crib has raised approximately $3.64M across seven funding rounds, with backers including We Founder Circle, Rebright Partners, AngelList, and angels such as Vijay Shekhar Sharma and Kunal Shah. Garg previously built and scaled co-living operator YourShell before starting Crib. The CirclePe deal pushes Crib deeper into embedded fintech, but it stays squarely in PropTech/SaaS territory rather than physical real estate or lending infrastructure.
