Their answer is Alpie Core, a 32B 4-bit reasoning model built on a lean budget and benchmarked at the NDTV IndAI Summit 2026. Rather than chasing giant parameter counts, 169Pi focuses on small, efficient models, using a 1-bit architecture that cuts compute costs and power consumption dramatically, making deployment viable in places where GPU-heavy infrastructure is not an option. The platform covers LLMs, multi-modal systems, and domain-specific models tuned for Indian education, healthcare, insurance, and governance. Already partnering with ISRO and deploying on hardware in schools and universities, 169Pi's stated mission is unambiguous: AI that is free, accessible, and truly Indian.
